Week 16 Recap, Playoff Scenarios

Ladies and gentlemen, it was another outstanding week of BHFFC football! Tony Romo's tender vagina helped YGF wrap up the #1 seed and likely cost Safety Blitz any hope of a victory as the Eagle's didn't have to score many points to handle the Cowboys following the injured reproductive organ. IAB utilized the grand stage of MNF to eliminate the Cougars from the playoff race, fueling a number of offensive slurs from Columbia. PAP picked up a huge win and put themselves in control of their playoff destiny with a victory over the Can't Beat Anybody's. TYG continued their strong play in a blowout victory over the Vikings, who appear to have packed it in until the 2012 campaign. The Big TDs evened the score with a nice looking Tight End squad as the battle for the cellar continues until the final week. While most teams will be playing for seeding or for pride next week, there are still a number of meaningful games to determine the final playoff participants. In a twist of dramatic and coincidental irony, the four teams in the running for the final three playoff spots all square off in Week 17.

Playoff Scenarios

  1. Young Gun Football: Clinched the #1 seed overall even with a loss in Week 17 based on head to head vs. TYG and total points vs. Toejam.
  2. Tebow's Youth Group: Clinched playoff spot; clinch #2 seed with win OR IAB loss.
  3. Toejam Football: Clinched playoff spot; clinch #3 seed with win OR PAP loss (own head to head tie breaker over Pessimists and IAB)
  4. The Pessimists: Clinch playoff spot with win (Own head to head tie breaker over PAP and IAB)
  5. Play Action Pass: Clinch playoff spot with win OR Anybody's loss (own head to head tie breaker over IAB)
  6. Illegal Alien Babies: Clinch playoff spot with win OR Anybody's loss
  7. The Can't Beat Anybody's: Clinch playoff spot with win AND IAB loss OR with a win AND PAP loss AND more total points than one of either Pessimists or PAP
  8. Campbell's Cougars: Eliminated
  9. Maddawg's Tight End: Eliminated
  10. Safety Blitz: Eliminated
  11. Riley's Vikings: Eliminated
  12. We Got Big TDs: Eliminated
If you see that I have made a mistake, please tell me. I have tried to run through every possible scenario, but I am sure I have missed something. It should be a great Week 17!

Week 16 Preview

*Due to time constraints, the Week 16 Preview will be shorter than normal*

Game of the Week: Toejam Football (+26) @ Young Gun Football

In a game that is being dubbed "The Game of the Century," Toejam Football travels to Hell's Half Acre to battle Young Gun Football with the #1 overall seed in the BHFFC on the line. A Toejam victory would lock up the #1 overall seed, while a YGF victory would give their franchise the #1 seed so long as they win in Week 17 or maintain the total points scored lead after Week 17. Toejam Football will depend on the big play combination of Tony Romo and Dez Bryant in trying to overcome the hostile crowd. Coach Zach Maddux told reporters that his team has been loose all week and that he expects his team to put forth a great effort this weekend. YGF will lean on QB Aaron Rodgers for likely the last time during the regular season, as the MVP candidate is likely to rest during Week 17. Coach Jason Young expects a rowdy crowd this weekend in Oakdale and has called for the SWAT team, led by Special Agent Travis Lawson, to assist with crowd control. In a game as big as this, look for turnovers and special teams to make the difference.

Playoff Scenarios

  • Toejam Football: Can clinch #1 overall seed with a victory this weekend. Already clinched a playoff berth.
  • Tebow's Youth Group: Can clinch Thunder Division and #2 seed overall with a victory this weekend AND losses by both The Pessimists and Illegal Alien Babies.
  • Young Gun Football: Clinched a playoff berth. Will likely wrap up #1 seed overall with a victory this weekend (pending point totals after Week 17)
  • The Pessimists, Illegal Alien Babies, Play Action Pass, The Can't Beat Anybody's: If these teams win their final two games, they will clinch a playoff berth. (Loser of PAP and Anybody's will be in a tough spot after this weekend)
  • Campbell's Cougars: Needs to win final two games and get help to have a chance.
  • Safety Blitz, Maddawg's Tight End, Riley's Vikings: Mathematically still alive, but it will take a miracle. Must win out and get lots of help.
  • We Got Big TDs: Eliminated from playoff contention.
Details should become much more clear following this weekend. I have gone through hundreds of scenarios, but I don't have time to type them all on here. Remember that tie breakers are determined first by head-to-head matchups and then by total points scored. We will have a live draft in the chat room on the Thursday night following week 17 (January 5-make plans accordingly)

League Notes

YGF is projected to lead the league with 133 points...Campbell's Cougars is riding a league high three game winning streak...We Got Big TDs is riding a league high five game losing streak...PAP continues to lead the league in scoring, but YGF is right on his heels entering Week 16...YGF has never beaten Toejam Football...TYG and Illegal Alien Babies have the best home field advantage with identical 6-2 records on their home turf...YGF has the best road record at 5-3...YGF has the best divisional record at 8-1...Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers are projected to lead all players with 29 points...Calvin Johnson is projected to lead all receivers with 22 points...Ray "Rice, Rice Baby" is projected to lead the ball carriers with 19 points...Rob Gronkowski is projected to lead all tight ends with 15 points...Neil Rackers is projected to lead all kickers with 12 points...The Ravens are projected to lead all defenses with 12 points.

Young Gun Football: Twas the Night Before Playoffs

Twas the night before playoffs,
When all through Hell’s Half Acre,
Not a player was stirring,
Not a mover or shaker.
The helmets were hung in the lockers with care,
In hopes the Confederation Cup soon would be there.

The players were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of touchdowns, danced in their heads.
And coaches in the film room and I’m thinking of the Big TD’s rack,
We’re scheming up ways to get another sack.

When out on the field, there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the office to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I sprinted like Desean Jackson,
Turned on the stadium lights and got ready for some action.

The lights on the field with the new fallen snow,
Gave the luster of mid-day to objects bellow.
When what to my wandering eyes should appear,
But a miniature Confederation Cup and 10 tiny reindeer.

With a driver in a bandana, so lively and glitz,
I knew in a moment it must be Safety Blitz.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

“Now, Fatty! Now, T-Bone! Now, Looper, BJ, and Matt Riley!
On, Maddawg! On, Tebow! On, Toejam, Carmicheal, and Sanchez!
To the top of the scoreboard, to the top of the wall,
Now get on up outta here, outta here all!”

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the stadium roof,
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down from the rafters came PC with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, like Kid Rock with a hooker,
And on each side of him stood a hot lady, a looker.
A bundle of Trophy’s he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a vagabond, just opening his pack.

The stump of a toothpick, he held in his teeth,
And the smoke from Hughesy encircled his head like a wreath.
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know, I had something to dread.

The Hogan entrance theme came on, and he let out a yell,
He said “If you want this trophy, you gotta go through Hell!”
He spoke not another word, but we went straight to work,
And filled all the lockers to make our players go berserk.

He sprang back in the Cup, and let out a whistle,
And away they all flew like a Patriot missle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘as he flew out of view’,
“Happy Playoffs to all, except for BJ – F.U.!!!”

Week 15 Recap

Game of the Week: Toejam Football (114) @ Play Action Pass (105)

Toejam Football left Monterey with a huge victory over Play Action Pass to maintain their hold on the #1 overall seed heading into the home stretch. This game wasn't decided until the final 30 minutes of football during the 3 o'clock wave of games on Sunday. With the score almost deadlocked, it became a battle between Toejam's Plaxico Burress and PAP's Wes Welker. Burress came through in the clutch with a late touchdown grab and Welker was relatively quiet on the afternoon, resulting in the final margin of victory. The victory sets up a showdown in Week 16 between Toejam and YGF for BHFFC supremacy heading into the final week of the season.

The Pessimists (83) @ Campbell's Cougars (102)

The Pessimists continued their Tom Petty "Free Fall" as they fell on the road to Campbell's Cougars. The Pessimists, losers of three straight, were led by Matthew Stafford's 37 point effort. Coach BJ Hudson was bewildered after the loss, threatening to never shave his beard again. Campbell's Cougars won their third straight game and climbed to within one game of the playoff race. Coach Matthew Campbell watched six of his players score in double digits in the winning effort.

Young Gun Football (118) @ We Got Big TDs (80)

Young Gun Football survived the trap game in Portland against We Got Big TDs. YGF was led by 28 points from CJ Spiller, as the RB had a breakout performance against Miami. Coach Jason Young was all business after the game, stating that "Toejam Football is our only concern for the next week." We Got Big TDs was led by Matt Moore's 18 points, but it wasn't enough in the losing victory. Coach Tara Campbell threatened lineup changes after the game, stating that "Only those with the biggests TDs will play from this point forward."

Safety Blitz (106) @ Riley's Vikings (85)

Safety Blitz pulled out the road victory over Riley's Vikings in keeping their slim playoff hopes alive. Safety Blitz scored 100 points for the first time this season in the offensive explosion. Coach Phillip Campbell received a breakout performance from TE Brent Celek, who snagged a touchdown and racked up 156 yards on the day. Riley's Vikings were led by Tim Tebow's 26 point effort in the loss. Coach Adam Warren refused to answer questions following the game, offering up only the word "Iguana" after every question that was asked.

Tebow's Youth Group (54) @ Illegal Alien Babies (105)

Tebow's Youth Group faltered across the border in falling to the Illegal Alien Babies. TYG appeared lethargic throughout the contest, possibly as a result of the long transcontinental bus ride from Murfreesboro. Coach Daniel Campbell was disgruntled after the game, telling reporters that "This is unbelievable!" The Illegal Alien Babies were led by Tom Brady's 30 point performance and placed 4 other players in double digits. Coach Darrell Campbell has quietly put his team firmly in the playoff race with two weeks left to play.

Maddawg's Tight End (103) @ The Can't Beat Anybody's (82)

Maddawg's Tight End pulled out the road victory over The Can't Beat Anybody's in a game surrounded by controversy. MTE was led by the Seahawks defense, who bucked up to the tune of 28 points. Coach Miranda Maddux was concerned following the game with the health of Big Ben, who played poorly under the lights, or lack thereof, on MNF. The Can't Beat Anybody's were led by Megatron's 33 point effort, but it wasn't enough to pull out the victory at home. During the middle of the game, Coach Ethan Hudson changed the name of the franchise, which could result in fines from the league office. Stay tuned for developments regarding this matter.

Week 15 Preview

Game of the Week: Toejam Football (+33) @ Play Action Pass

Toejam Football makes the long trek east on I-40 to Monterey to battle Play Action Pass in a huge matchup for both teams. Toejam Football enters the contest in 1st Place overall and a win this weekend could go a long way in securing the #1 seed overall for the playoffs. Coach Zach Maddux is sticking to the "one game at a time" approach, however, insisting that his team is focused strictly on this weekend's contest. PAP is looking for their high octane offense to carry the load and possibly earn a share of the Lightning Division lead after this weekend's competition. Coach David Looper is offering free jugs of moonshine to the first 40,000 fans that enter the gates, which is sure to create a hostile environment. Look for this game to be determined by Jared Cook's ability to put up numbers against a weak Colts' defense.

Young Gun Football (-41) @ We Got Big TDs

Young Gun Football journeys north to Portland this weekend to battle We Got Big TDs. YGF is looking to stay on pace in the Lightning Division and could depart Portland with the #1 seed overall after all the dust settles. Coach Jason Young is hoping that rookie RB CJ Spiller will crank it up this weekend, as the newcomer has now had ample time to acclimate himself with the 1st team offense. We Got Big TDs is playing for pride from this point forward, as they have been eliminated from playoff contention. Coach Tara Campbell has benched starting TE Jason Witten this week, as Witten reportedly missed curfew and then muttered something about small breasts under his breath. With a battered and brusided Big TDs squad, anything less than a YGF victory in this contest would be a miracle.

The Pessimists (-21) @ Campbell's Cougars

The Pessimists travel to Columbia this weekend to take on the bulging Campbell's Cougars. The Pessimists are looking to stay in the playoff picture and find themselves one game out of 1st Place in the Thunder Division. Coach BJ Hudson has been unusually pessimistic regarding his teams play of late, stating that "my team is in a downward spiral." Campbell's Cougars have been in the news this week, albeit not for football purposes. PETA filed charges against Coach Matthew Campbell, as a picture has recently surfaced of Campbell mounting a dog while wearing a Santa costume. Look for this game to be determined by the RB2 and FLEX positions.

Tebow's Youth Group (+11) @ Illegal Alien Babies

Tebow's Youth Group travels across the border to battle the Illegal Alien Babies in a huge Thunder Division matchup. TYG finds themselves in 1st Place in the Thunder Division with the reality of the #1 seed overall well within their reach. Coach Daniel Campbell, who has pieced together his rushing attack all season, is looking to newly acquired RB Chris Ivory to carry the load this weekend from his FLEX position. The Illegal Alien Babies face a must-win situation this weekend if they wish to contend for the Thunder Division crown. Coach Darrell Campbell is calling on QB Tom Brady to lead his team to the promised land. The key matchup in this contest will be Chris Ivory vs. Brandon Lloyd.

Maddawg's Tight End (+34) @ Carmichael's Crusaders

Maddawg's Tight End journeys to Murfreesboro this weekend to battle Carmichael's Crusaders. MTE needs to win out and receive some help in order to keep their playoff chances alive. Coach Miranda Maddux will again be without the services of WR Andre Johnson, a theme that has become redundant during the course of this season. Carmichael's Crusaders enters the weekend one game off the pace for the Lightning Divison lead. Coach Ethan Hudson believes that the return of RB Adrian Peterson is just the spark that his team needs entering the home stretch. With both teams' defenses facing each other, that position could easily be the deciding factor in the contest.

Safety Blitz (-14) @ Riley's Vikings

Safety Blitz travels to Nashville and the campus of TSU to battle Riley's Vikings in a game being dubbed as "Two Teams That Suck." Safety Blitz is projected to score 121 points, but we all know that will never happen and they will be lucky to score half of that total. Coach Phillip Campbell is hopeful that Michael Vick can carry his team down the homestretch of the season and give his team a chance to win. Riley's Vikings will look to give their fans more bang for their buck than just the TSU band's halftime performance. Coach Adam Warren has joined Coach Matthew Campbell in the lawsuit from PETA, as he reportedly posted a video of an iguana performing unsightly behaviors. Look for this game to be determined by Tim Tebow's ability to praise God between each play today.

League Notes

YGF is projected to lead the league with 131 points...Campbell's Cougars and Carmichael's Crusaders share the league's longest current winning streak at two games...We Got Big TDs and Safety Blitz share the league's longest current losing streak at four games...TYG has the league's best home record at 6-2...Toejam Football has the league's best road record at 4-2...Drew Brees is projected to lead all players with 31 points...Arian Foster is projected to lead all running backs with 22 points...Wes Welker is projected to lead all wide receivers with 16 points...Rob Gronkowski is projected to lead all tight ends with 15 points...John Kasay and Neil Rackers are projected to lead the kickers with 12 points each...The Falcons and the Bengals are projected to lead all defenses with 11 points each...Playoff projections will be featured during next week's recap.

Riley's Vikings Press Conference-Week 15

Back by popular demand!

My team came to play last week.  The loss can be blamed on poor coaching.  I mean, what kind of idiot would bench Tim Tebow during his hot streak!

Because of this, I decided to lighten things up in the locker room this week and show a funny video to lift spirits....enjoy.  Sometimes a hot bath is all you need to feel better!  So team, take a bath, clear the system, and be ready to roll this week!

Safety Blitz Press Conference-Week 15

Opening Statement: Thank you for being here today. It's no secret that it has been tough to be a member of Safety Blitz during recent weeks. We're not playing well. That's no secret. We're beat up. That's not an excuse. Success and failure starts at the top, so I take full responsibility for our struggles. We will get better. It might not be this week, it might not be next week, but sooner or later, we will get better. We are facing a tough Riley's Vikings team this week that presents a number of challenges. We will have to play our best to have an opportunity to win this week. Questions?

Adam Sparks, DNJ: Coach Campbell, can you help settle the rumors concerning your future as the commissioner of the BHFFC?

Coach Campbell: I'm here to answer questions about Safety Blitz and nothing else. I have no comment at this time regarding your question.

Adam Sparks, DNJ: With all due respect, your status as commissioner is a hot topic that the media and fans of the BHFFC deserve have addressed.

Coach Campbell: Next question.

Chris Berman: Coach Campbell, it's me, the Swami! Talk a little bit about your playoff chances, cause right now they are like Prince Albert, back, back, back, back, back, GONE!!! SEE YA ST. LOUIS!!!

Coach Campbell: Swami, I am honored by your presence and humored by your Pujols reference. Tread lightly around some of the other coaches in this league with those comments, however, as they may become offended. In terms of playoffs, we are strictly focused on Week 15 and Riley's Vikings. The word 'playoffs' hasn't been mentioned in our locker room in the history of our franchise, so we're not going to start talking about them now.

Mark Howard: Coach Campbell, I don't know how you do things here in the South, but the public deserves to know the details regarding your tenure as commissioner. Now quit playing games and tell us what is going on.

Coach Campbell: Get the hell out of my press conference you yankee lover!!! Do you not realize that everybody hates you? If it wasn't for Frank, nobody would listen! Even the Preds' players roll their eyes when you interview them on the bench!

Closing Statement: I will comment on the commissioner's office when the time is deemed appropriate. Right now, my football team deserves all of my time and attention and that is what they are going to get. I will see you all in the locker room following our victory this weekend!

Week 14 Recap

Game of the Week: The Pessimists (91) @ Tebow's Youth Group (99)

Tebow's Youth Group held serve at home in defeating The Pessimists to gain sole possession of first place in the Thunder Division. The Pessimists placed 4 players in double digit scoring, led by Matthew Stafford's 21 point effort. Coach BJ Hudson was upset with his defensive selection, as the Jaguars defense would have won the game for his squad. TYG was led by a 25 point effort from QB Philip Rivers, as the veteran signal caller seams to have hit his stride during recent weeks. Coach Daniel Campbell is still trying to figure out his NY Giants' rushing attack, as both ball carriers have been deceptive in their production this season.

Campbell's Cougars (79) @ Safety Blitz (64)

Campbell's Cougars pulled out the road victory over Safety Blitz in 'The Devil's Den' on Sunday. Campbell's Cougars were led by rookie sensation Cam Newton, as the QB scored 22 points in leading the surging Cougars. Coach Matthew Campbell was all business after the game, however, as running back DeMarco Murray suffered a broken ankle and was placed on season ending IR. Safety Blitz was led by Marion 'The Barbarian' Barber's 17 point effort, albeit an effort marred by a late fumble on a potential game winning drive. Coach Phillip Campbell's squad was all but eliminated from postseason contention with the loss, as his club failed to score 100 points for the 14th consecutive week.

Riley's Vikings (82) @ Illegal Alien Babies (94)

Riley's Vikings fell across the border to the Illegal Alien Babies in a game with playoff implications for both teams. Riley's Vikings was led by a 21 point effort from Ryan Grant. Coach Adam Warren was bitten by 'The Hasselbeck Curse,' as Matt Hasselbeck mustered a mere one point before leaving with injury. The Illegal Alien Babies were led by Tom Brady's 30 point effort. Coach Darrell Campbell was pleased with his team's effort, but still refused to sit down with an English interpreter for an interview.

Play Action Pass (109) @ Young Gun Football (117)

Play Action Pass fell on the road at 'Hell's Half Acre' as Young Gun Football pulled out the victory between two of the highest scoring offenses in the BHFFC. PAP was led by a 25 point effort from QB Drew Brees and a strong receiving game. Coach David Looper was left wondering what might have been if he had started the Packers' defense, which outscored the starting defense by 10 points. YGF was led by Shonn Greene's 23 points, who has now scored over 20 points in two straight weeks. Coach Jason Young already had his sights set ahead following the game, stating that "The only thing left in my path is a bad case of Toejam!"

We Got Big TDs (110) @ Carmichael's Crusaders (119)

We Got Big TDs built a huge early lead but couldn't hold off Carmichael's Crusaders in Murfreesboro over the weekend. The Big TDs were led by Rob Gronkowski's 28 point effort, as the porn star played like Dirk Diggler possessed all afternoon. Coach Tara Campbell's squad was eliminated from playoff contention with the loss. Carmichael's Crusaders were led by Eli Manning's 26 point performance as the QB led the comeback effort. Coach Ethan Hudson has his squad one game off the Lightning Division lead with three weeks to play.

Toejam Football (129) @ Maddawg's Tight End (98)

Toejam Football defeated Maddawg's Tight End in a sibling rivalry that was essentially a home game for both teams. Toejam Football was led by a monster 37 point effort from RB Maurice Jones Drew and another stellar performance from Tony Romo. Coach Zach Maddux won despite having two of his players not register a point in the game, a remarkable feat considering their point total. Maddawg's Tight End was led by 21 points from Big Ben. Coach Miranda Maddux was visibly upset after the game, refusing to shake her brother's hand following the emotional loss.

Week 13 Recap

Game of the Week: Campbell's Cougars (89) @ We Got Big TDs (87)

Campbell's Cougars escaped Portland with a come-from-behind victory over We Got Big TDs. Campbell's Cougars was led by ROY candidate Cam Newton, who put up 39 points in yet another dominant performance. Coach Matthew Campbell secured the victory on MNF behind a 13 point effort from Vincent Jackson. We Got Big TDs was led by Rob 'Porn Star' Gronkowski's 24 points in the tough luck loss. Coach Tara Campbell received a rushing touchdown from Mike Tolbert on MNF, but it wasn't enough to stave off the comeback minded Cougars.

Safety Blitz (62) @ Maddawg's Tight End (119)

Safety Blitz suffered their third consecutive defeat in Columbia at the hands of Maddawg's Tight End. Safety Blitz was led by 21 points from Arian Foster, but received little production from anyone else on the field. To make Coach Phillip Campbell's headache worse, RB Matt Forte suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain and is out for two to four weeks. Maddawg's Tight End was led by LeSean McCoy and Marshawn Lynch, who combined to score 50 points in racing out to an early lead on TNF. From that point, the outcome was never in doubt for Coach Miranda Maddux's squad, which jumped out of the cellar with the victory.

The Pessimists (126) @ Young Gun Football (119)

The Pessimists pulled out the road victory at Hell's Half Acre over Young Gun Football. The Pessimists were led by a monster day from WR Percy Harvin, who was a late addition to the lineup due to health concerns during the week. Coach BJ Hudson was ecstatic with the play of Jonathan Stewart, who scored an uncharacteristic 15 points in the RB2 position. YGF was led by 39 points from Aaron Rodgers in the losing effort. Coach Jason Young continues to be baffled by DeSean Jackson, who struggled once again with QB Vince Young, no relation, under center.

Illegal Alien Babies (67) @ Play Action Pass (84)

The Illegal Alien Babies struggled to get past customs and endured  a rough day in Monterey in falling to Play Action Pass. The Alien Babies, behind a newly acquired avatar, were led by 23 points from QB Tom Brady. Coach Darrell Campbell continues to search for a rushing attack, as James Starks continues to be hobbled by an ankle injury. PAP was led by Drew Brees, as the QB continued his torrid play with 31 points. Coach David Looper was not overly pleased with the victory, however, as his running game combined to score a combined five points.

Riley's Vikings (114) @ Toejam Football (106)

Riley's Vikings pulled off the upset of the year in Columbia over Toejam Football last weekend. Riley's Vikings were led by a balanced offensive attack, as six players scored in double digits. Coach Adam Warren spent much of his time during the post-game press conference "Tebowing," seemingly in a gesture towards his starting QB. Toejam Football was led by Maurice Jones Drew's 24 point effort on MNF, but the comeback effort fell just short. Coach Zach Maddux was not happy with the play of TE Jared Cook and vowed to get better production from that position next week.

Tebow's Youth Group (107) @ Carmichael's Crusaders (111)

Tebow's Youth Group put up a valiant comeback effort on MNF, but it was not enough to overcome Carmichael's Crusaders. TYG was led by Philip Rivers' 29 points, who appeared to be inspired by the thought of Jeff Fisher roaming his sidelines next season. Coach Daniel Campbell was stunned with his kicking game, as Robbie Gould was only able to muster three points this week. Carmichael's Crusaders was led by a 27 point effort from QB Eli Manning. Coach Ethan Hudson was overly pleased with TE Jermichael Finley, who scored 14 points to provide a major boost at the tight end position.

Riley's Vikings Press Release

I have broken my vow of silence on this press conference board to send an encouraging word to our commissioner with rumors of his resignation.  A few weeks ago when my team Riley's Vikings was struggling, I told them the tail of the Honey Badger.  The story of the Honey Badger inspired my team so much that  I even looked into changing our team name to the Honey Badger's. However, we do not currently have the funds to pay for new uniforms or a stadium overhaul to change our mascot.  So while we stay Riley's Vikings, we now play like the Honey Badger!

We have the best commissioner in fantasy football history and we should all pay our respects to his efforts.  So Phillip here is my message to you and your team... You have been bitten in the face by a cobra and stung by some bees (aka gotten beat down recently) , so take a tip from the Honey Badger....lay down, take a nap, and when you wake up...dont give a crap and go rip someones head off!

Young Gun Football Press Statement

I’ll make this press conference brief. I have been fielding questions from a lot of people with regard to the Commissioners alleged text message about possibly resigning. I am not going to speak publicly about information that I discuss with Coach Campbell. I will however speak to the quality of leadership that Coach Campbell provides for this league. I have played in leagues in the past with weak commissioners and it always led to multiple problems and a lot of internal bickering. We don’t have that problem in the BHFFC. Part of the reason for Coach Campbell’s struggles with his Safety Blitz franchise stems from the fact that he is working two jobs as both coach and commissioner, as well as, running the greatest fantasy sports blog on the internet. That is a difficult task for any one man to handle.
I know that I need to step up and help with some of the day to day operations of the league and not focus strictly on Young Gun Football. I have been noticeably absent from the media for over a month now due to some personal issues, but I am now back and focused. I believe Coach Campbell is simply frustrated with being mediocre in the standings, but I don’t think he will quit like MTSU football did after the loss to Western or like Greg Logan quit almost every baseball camp. He has too much pride for that. I believe the BHFFC will continue to be the greatest league in all of fantasy sports and I think it will do so with Coach Campbell leading the way as the commissioner. I will not be fielding any questions as I have to prepare Ryan Matthews to score 25 points and beat BJ Hudson’s Pessimists. Now get the hell out of my office!

*Breaking News-Commissioner, Coach May Resign*

Columbia, TN--Following an intense tirade that led to his ejection, rumors are swirling about the future of BHFFC commissioner and head coach Phillip Campbell. Campbell, who coaches Safety Blitz, has been the league commissioner since its inception in 2010. Campbell was not available for comment in the locker room following his ejection.

Known and respected by his peers for his fiery nature, Campbell's squad has struggled recently, losing four of their past five games and falling behind by double digits early in this week's contest against Maddawg's Tight End. Campbell has seemingly been on edge for weeks now, as he has closed practices and refused to attend his weekly press conference for nearly a month. In addition to his coaching duties, Campbell is also responsible for the day-to-day operations of the league, which many believe may be too much for one individual to handle.

Following a touchdown pass from Ben 'The Pervert' Roethlesberger to Mike Wallace, Campbell seemingly lost control on the sideline. He immediately stormed onto the field to dispute the catch with Head Referree Greg Logan, who appeared to lose his balance repeatedly during the arguement. One minute into the arguement, Logan appeared to head butt Coach Campbell, who responded with a swift kick to the balls and a Stone Cold Stunner. At this point, extra security was summoned to the field to no avail, as Campbell continued his tirade by throwing water coolers onto the field and punting every football he could find on the sideline into the stands, much to the chagrin of equipment manager Lynn King. At this point in time, the crowd began stampeding towards the exits in fear for their lives, at which point Campbell went on a dead sprint to the locker room.

After beginning the season on a three game losing streak, Campbell's squad won four in row before their current skid of four losses in five games, not counting this weekend's debacle. Rumors of a text message that Campbell sent to his coworkers saying "I might resign my post as commissioner. I am simply devastated." following today's ejection have not been confirmed at this time. Campbell has a career record of 12-17 in his two seasons in the BHFFC.

Stay tuned for more details as they develop.

Coach Jason Young says that his team is not influenced by being a huge underdog in this game, stating that "I'll leave the betting lines to Vegas-you just leave the football to me and my men!" Safety Blitz faces an uphill battle in this affair, as their opponent got off to a fast start on Thursday. When asked if he would show any mercy towards his newest family member, Coach Phillip Campbell fired up "The Game's" intro music, spewed water into the air, and promptly left the press conference room. Carmichael's Crusaders will once again be without first round draft choice Adrian Peterson this weekend. Coach Ethan Hudson has been rumored to be on suicide watch during a recent three game losing streak, but he has adamantly denied any truth to the allegations. Coach Jason Young is looking to reestablish his team's dominance after a tough stretch during the midpoint of the season. Carmichael's Crusaders will depend on their big play receiving corps to carry the load in this one as RB Adrian Peterson has been ruled out with a sprained ankle. Look for this game to be determined by Eli Manning's ability to match up with MVP front-runner Aaron Rodgers.

Coach David Looper is hopeful that big play receiver Julio Jones can return from injury to ignite his offense. Maddawg's Tight End needs a win to snap a franchise long four game losing streak. Coach Miranda Maddux has been incognito all week from her team's practices and pictures haven recently surfaced of her drinking out of a coconut on a Jamaican Beach. Look for this game to be determined by the combination of the RB1 and RB2 positions.

Tebow's Youth Group will look to maintain their hold on the top seed in the Thunder Division with a victory this week. Coach Daniel Campbell is hopeful that his unpredictable running attack will show up this week to keep pace with the high octane offense of PAP. Week 9 Preview

Game of the Week: The Pessimists (+6) @ Carmichael's Crusaders

This sibling rivalry is set to explode today as The Pessimists travel to Murfreesboro to battle Carmichael's Cruasaders in a huge matchup for both teams. The Pessimists will lean heavily on Ray Rice to lead the offensive attack as he does battle in Pittsburgh on SNF. Coach BJ Hudson is piecing together a patchwork unit to compensate for six players being out with byes or injuries. Carmichae's Crusaders will look to rebound from a tough loss and keep pace in the high octane Lightning Division. Coach Ethan Hudson is caught behind the 8-ball today as well, as leading scorers Adrian Peterson and Calvin Johnson are both out on byes this week. Look for this game to be determined by QB play, as each team's signal callers will have to get it done on the road this week.

Campbell's Cougars (-19) @ Young Gun Football

Just two short weeks ago, who would have ever imagined Campbell's Cougars being favored in a matchup with YGF? Such is life in the BHFFC, however, as the tide can turn in the flash of an eye. Campbell's Cougars head to Oakdale with a ton of confidence after last week's blowout victory. Coach Matthew Campbell believes that his run game has finally got on track and will rely on it heavily again this week. YGF will look to halt a two game losing streak in front of the home crowd at Hell's Half Acre. Coach Jason Young has been notably absent from the media lately, and many are wondering if his off the field marriage issues are hindering his team's ability to perform. Look for this game to be determined by the matchup between Michael Bush and Pierre Thomas, as both ball carriers are being thrust into lead back roles this week due to injuries.

Illegal Alien Babies (-6) @ Toejam Football

Two of the hottest teams in the BHFFC will collide along the banks of the Duck River today in a pivotal non-divisional matchup. The Illegal Alien Babies will look to maintain at least a share of first place in the Thunder Division behind the throwing arm of Tom Brady. Coach Darrell Campbell is notably much more jovial this year than last, due in large part to his team's improved performance and his better grasp for the English language. Toejam Football has slowly crept their way back into the hunt in the Lightning Division, but will face an uphill battle today due to injuries and byes. Coach Zach Maddux has played his cards close to the vest yet again this week, refusing to announce his starting lineup until just before game time. With both teams likely deploying a three wide receiver attack, look for this game to be determined by the play making ability of the pass catchers.

Tebow's Youth Group (+5) @ We Got Big TDs

These two in-laws collide in Portland with each team looking to make a push towards the playoffs. Tebow's Youth Group has been hit hard by injuries yet again, as three running backs have already been ruled out or questionable for today's action. Coach Daniel Campbell refuses to make excuses, however, and continues to believe in struggling QB Philip Rivers. We Got Big TDs is looking to continue their 'busty' ways and continue their climb towards the top of the Lightning Division. Coach Tara Campbell will send out her twin tight end set yet again in hopes of creating favorable matchups for her ballclub. Look for this game to be determined by defense and special teams.

Safety Blitz (+17) @ Play Action Pass

These two former base coaching partners will square off in Monterey in a pivotal contest for both squads. Safety Blitz is coming off of a tough, last minute loss and needs a win to keep pace in the tightly packed Thunder Division. Coach Phillip Campbell is happy to have his top three running backs in the lineup together for the first time in weeks and hopes that they will be the difference in the outcome. Play Action Pass is riding an uncharacteristic two game losing streak despite being the highest scoring team in the league. Coach David Looper refuses to panic, however, and believes that a healthy LeGarrette "Smoka" Blount will be the spark his team needs for a victory. In what is projected to be an offensive shootout, look for this game to come down to a battle of turnovers.

Riley's Vikings (-16) @ Maddawg's Tight End

Riley's Vikings will make the journey to Columbia to battle Maddawg's Tight End in the first ever matchup between these two teams. Riley's Vikings is coming off an emotional victory last week and will look to continue their winning ways in Week 9. Coach Adam Warren is betting the house on the New York Giants this week, starting an unprecedented three players from the same team. Maddawg's Tight End is looking to rebound from a tough loss to her lover during Week 8. Coach Miranda Maddux is still fighting the injury bug, as standout wide receiver Andre Johnson will miss yet another game this week. Look for the difference in this one to come down to QB play.

Safety Blitz Press Conference: Week 9

Opening Statement: We are coming off a tough loss to the Big TDs, which were much bigger in person than on film. We didn't execute very well throughout the game, but much of that is a testament to Coach T-Bone Campbell and her staff. While it is tough not to think about our physical encounter with the Big TDs, we must shift our focus to Play Action Pass and a boistrous Moneterey crowd. This is a big game for both teams and I expect a much better effort from my players this week. Questions?

Adam Sparks, DNJ: Coach Campbell, how big of a distraction were the Big TDs to your football team?

Coach Campbell: Adam, let's be honest here, I've seen the Big TDs plenty of times before and have had success handling them in the past. My players, however, haven't had nearly as many meetings with the Big TDs, but I feel like we did a more than adequate job of preparing them. My players were prepared for the multiple looks that the Big TDs can provide, we simply didn't adjust well to their implanted play at the end of regulation.

Kyle Brown, Portland Leader: Coach Campbell, exactly how did you prepare your players for their first look at the Big TDs?

Coach Campbell: Listen Kyle, I understand that you and the rest of the media are upset that I closed practice last week, but it was the only way that the WWE Divas would agree to appear at practice and expose their big tds on the sideline. It was just business, nothing personal. Practice will be open again this week.

Kyle Brown: Were there any other implants besides the last play that you weren't prepared for?

Coach Campbell: God bless, you guys are obsessed with the Big TDs! This is the last question I am ansering that does not regard PAP. To address the question, yes, there was one other play we had not seen before, so there were actually two implants, which is fairly common in my experience. Otherwise, they just did a great job of executing. Schaub had to throw a couple of passes through a hole the size of an areola, which in some cases can be quite large, but we're still talking about a small window that he had as a target. Then Battle got the big score at the end and Coach T-Bone Campbell was able to cum from behind yet again. Enough said.

Monte Hale, DNJ: Coach Campbell, talk a little bit about PAP and your strategy for this weekend.

Coach Campbell: It's going to be a war Monte, there's no question about it. Coach Looper will have his squad fired up and ready to play in front of their home crowd. They are on a two game slide right now so that will provide them extra motivation to play well. We have to sustain their opening round flurry and not get overwhelmed by the high octane attack early. If we can weather the storm, I believe we have a great chance to pull out a victory on the road. It's a big game for both teams in regards to the postseason picture.

Closing Statement: If there are no other questions, this will conclude our press conference. I look forward to speaking with you again after the game on MNF. Hopefully it will be after a victory over PAP, but that will only occur if my team can display more maturity than we did when we got up close and personal with the Big TDs. Thank you gentlemen.

Week 8 Recap

Game of the Week: We Got Big TDs (78) @ Safety Blitz (75)

We Got Big TDs went on the road and pulled out the come from behind victory over Safety Blitz in a wild and crazy affair. We Got Big TDs pulled out the victory behind a touchdown run from Jackie Battle and a never say die attitude. "I have always enjoyed coming from behind," quipped Coach Tara Campbell after a brief handshake at midfield. Safety Blitz moved to 0-4 all time in games in which they start a backup QB, as John Beck struggled mightily on Sunday. Coach Phillip Campbell pointed to a six point swing that occured within a matter of 15 seconds, as Stephen Gostkowski missed a 42 yard field goal and Beck threw an interception just moments later. Rumors of sexual favors being wagered between the coaches are currently being investigated by the commissioner's office.

Carmichael's Crusaders (82) @ Riley's Vikings (97)

Carmichael's Crusaders and Riley's Vikings both saw streaks come to a screaching halt on Sunday, albeit with alternate perspectives. Carmichael's Crusaders saw their five game winning streak snapped and blew an opportunity to secure a tie atop the Lightning Division. Coach Ethan Hudson repeatedly denied that his team was looking ahead to next week's opponent despite plausible evidence that he was. Riley's Vikings secured the victory behind a 28 point effort from Michael Vick, who played well after his bye week. Coach Adam Warren was showered with gatorade after the game and seemed pleased to be playing his home games on the campus of TSU while his relocation project is completed.

Toejam Football (77) @ Tebow's Youth Group (68)

Toejam Football went on the road and pulled out a big win over Tebow's Youth Group. Toejam Football received a breakout performance from Reggie Bush, who eclipsed the 100 yard mark for the 1st time this season. Coach Zach Maddux was seen beating Tony Romo with a paint stirring stick at halftime of his game against the Eagles, which caused Romo to play much better in the 2nd half. Tebow's Youth Group suffered through byes and injuries in Week 8, but still appeared to be in good position entering MNF. Much to the chagrin of Coach Daniel Campbell, Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates could not muster up enough offense to pull out the victory in front of the home crowd.

Young Gun Football (79) @ Illegal Alien Babies (103)

Young Gun Football left both their green cards and their playbook at home in falling on the road to Illegal Alien Babies. YGF was forced to leave all of their bye week players in custody of the Mexican Federales with the exception of Tony Gonzalez, as they all lost their green cards in a late night trip to Ken's Gold Club. Gonzalez, however, slipped through the security system as the Federales believed that he was an undercover Mexican agent. Illegal Alien Babies pleased their chanting crowd with a an explosive offensive performance, led by a 25 point effort from the Bengals' defense. Coach Darrell Campbell was seen chanting and eating a taco in the crowd at halftime, as this one was over well before the final whistle blew.

Play Action Pass (53) @ The Pessimists (101)

Play Action Pass struggled early and often in falling to The Pessimists. PAP could get nothing going on the ground, as both of their running backs failed to register a point. Coach David Looper is relieved that the bye weeks are temporarily over and hopes his team can return to its full potential in the upcoming weeks. The Pessimists remained tied atop the Thunder Division with the blowout victory. Coach BJ Hudson appeared to be angered by the fact that all of the other league managers picked against his unit to win this weekend, telling reporters that "they can all get a big f-you!"

Maddawg's Tight End (91) @ Campbell's Cougars (142)

Maddawg's Tight End was at the mercy of Campbell's Cougars pent up explosion in Week 8. Maddawg's Tight End was led by a monster 31 point effort from LeSean McCoy. Coach Miranda Maddux is hopeful that standout receiver Andre Johnson can return next week after missing the previous four weeks with a hamstring injury. Campbell's Cougars snapped a long losing streak with an offensive explosion that would have made McSweeney's New Orleans woman proud. Coach Matthew Campbell was ecstatic after the game, telling reporters "I told you I was gonna spank that tight end!"

Week 8 Preview

Game of the Week: Young Gun Football (+35) @ Illegal Alien Babies

Young Gun Football travels across the border to face the Illegal Alien Babies in a pivotal matchup for both teams as well as the rest of the league. YGF enters Week 8 with a league-best 6-1 record but needs a win this weekend to hold the rest of the Lightning Division at bay. Coach Jason Young will piece together a patchwork offensive attack, as five of his players are out with byes and two more are out with injuries. The Illegal Alien Babies enter this week's contest in a tie for first place in the Thunder Division. Coach Darrell Campbell will deploy a three wide-receiver set as well as newly acquired tight end Heath Miller in attempting to pull out the victory. In order for YGF to have a chance in this one, rookie and former Safety Blitz QB Andy Dalton will need to play well against Seattle.

Carmichael's Crusaders (-33) @ Riley's Vikings

These two organizations are travelling in opposite directions as Carmichael's Crusaders enter Week 8 on a five game winning streak while Riley's Vikings have suffered six losses in a row. Carmichael's Crusaders is looking at this weekend as an opportunity to enter a tie for first place in the Thunder Division with a win and a YGF loss. Coach Ethan Hudson appears to be looking forward to Week 9 already, stating in his press conference that "I'll beat BJ next week to tie the record," referring to the BHFFC winning streak record of seven games. Riley's Vikings are in dire need of a victory this week after losing six straight and being in danger of matching the BHFFC record of seven straight losses. Coach Adam Warren believes he has the answer this week despite his constant efforts to trade this past week. Look for this game to be determined by the ability of Riley's Vikings running backs to perform to their capabilities.

Toejam Football (-24) @ Tebow's Youth Group

These two future wedding ushers will lock horns instead of practicing their ushering techniques this weekend in a pivotal matchup for both teams. Toejam Football is coming off an emotional win in Week 7 and is looking to keep pace in the high octane Lightning Division. Coach Zach Maddux is hopeful that Reggie Bush can produce in the absence of Darren McFadden, who is out on a bye this week. Tebow's Youth Group is coming off an emotional victory over Tim Tebow himself and riding a three game winning streak. Coach Daniel Campbell has been seen 'Tebowing' numerous times throughout the week in honor of his hero.Look for this game to be determined by whether or not Bush can take advantage of Daniel Thomas' absence to put up key points in the flex position.

Play Action Pass (+18) @ The Pessimists

Play Action Pass will load up the flatbed pickup trucks and make the journey to Newburn, TN to face The Pessimists. PAP will deploy a twin tight end set this week behind two of the most lethal tight ends in football. Coach David Looper is concerned with his running attack, however, as both Danny Woodhead and Dexter McCluster have struggled to establish consistency this season. The Pessimists are looking to rebound from a Week 7 loss and the loss of standout receiver Santana Moss, who is out for at least three weeks. Coach BJ Hudson will lean heavily on Matthew Stafford and Ray Rice to attempt to pull out the victory. In a game that contains a number of superstar perfromances, The Pessimists will need someone other than Stafford and Rice to produce points to have a chance in this one.

We Got Big TDs (-2) @ Safety Blitz

In one of two spouse matchups in Week 8, We Got Big TDs travels to 'The Devil's Den' to battle Safety Bitz. The Big TDs are playing their cards close to the vest, as they have yet to announce their official starting lineup. Coach Tara Campbell is hopeful that her running game can get on track, as they have struggled to establish a consisten rushing attack so far this year. Safety Blitz will look to defend their home turf and maintain at least a share of first place in the defensive minded Thunder Division. Coach Phillip Campbell vows that his squad will not be distracted by the Big TDs and has practiced with nude cheerleaders on the sideline at practice all week. This game could easily be determined by a battle of backup-turned-starter running backs between Jackie Battle and Bernard Scott.

Maddawg's Tight End (+28) @ Campbell's Crusaders

In a battle of future newlyweds, Maddawg's Tight End travels to the other side of the bed to battle Campbell's Cougars. MTE, who has yet to finalize their starting lineup for Week 8 as of press time, needs a win to keep pace in the Lightning Division. Coach Miranda Maddux is still without standout reciever Andre Johnson, who she hopes will return in Week 9. Campbell's Crusaders asked for and received permission to move this game to the Superdome in New Orleans, LA in an effort to expand their fan base. Coach Matthew Campbell's squad arrived in New Orleans a few days early in order to become better acclimated with the boobs and whiskey that is associated with Bourbon Street. Look for this game to be determined by which team's receivers can make plays down the field.

In a pure coincedence of scheduling, spouses Phillip and Tara Campbell as well as future spouses Matthew Campbell and Miranda Maddux will face off in Week 8. While the latter couple has moved their game to a neutral site in New Orleans, LA, Coach Phillip Campbell refused to follow suit for fear of angering his season ticket holders. Week 7 Recap

Game of the Week: Campbell's Cougars (87) @ Illegal Alien Babies (94)

Campbell's Cougars built a 3rd quarter lead only to watch the Illegal Alien Babies make a furious 4th quarter rally and then hold off the Cougars last second kicking efforts. Campbell's Cougars received a monster performance from newly acquired Demarco Murray, who ran to the tune of 31 points. Coach Matthew Campbell was disappointed in his kicking game, however, as Billy Cundiff missed horribly on what would have been a five point field goal and only scored one point on the night. The Illegal Alien Babies were paced by another standout performance from Darren Sproles, who completed the comeback effort by scoring 21 points in the Saints romp over the Colts. Coach Darrell Campbell was very pleased with his team after the game, pointing out that it was a complete team effort to secure the victory.

Young Gun Football (92) @ Toejam Football (105)

The Duck River was swarming with drunken kayakers following Toejam Football's upset of previously undefeated Young Gun Football. YGF, who saw their 6 game losing streak snapped, was led by a 31 point performance from QB Aaron Rodgers. Coach Jason Young stormed out of the locker room after the game without speaking to reporters. Toejam Football was led by the combination of Tony Romo and Dez Bryant, who combined to score 33 points. Following a late touchdown pass to Bryant to pull within striking range of YGF, Coach Zach Maddux referred to the score as being "much needed."

Riley's Vikings (59) @ Tebow's Youth Group (69)

Riley's Vikings fell on the road against Tebow's Youth Group despite receiving a breakout performance from Tim Tebow against his namesake team. Riley's Vikings were led by the aforementioned Tebow, who scored 26 points in his first start of the 2011 season. Coach Adam Warren received little other production, however, as only one other player scored in double digits. Tebow's Youth Group was paced by a balanced offensive attack, much to the approval of Coach Daniel Campbell. "It was a harmonious effort by the Youth Group today, yet one in which we were forced to compete against our hero," Campbell stated after the victory.

We Got Big TDs (59) @ Maddawg's Tight End (75)

We Got Big TDs fell on the road to Maddawg's Tight End in the first ever matchup of two female competitors in the BHFFC. The Big TDs were led by 23 points from Matt Schaub, yet received little production from anyone else. Coach Tara Campbell was already scouring the waiver wires prior to the start of SNF and promising to make roster changes. Maddawg's Tight End was led by Ben Roethlisberger's 32 points and won despite both of her running backs scoring 0 points. Coach Miranda Maddux is looking forward to the return of RB LeSean McCoy after his Week 7 bye.

Play Action Pass (92) @ Carmichael's Crusaders (127)

Play Action Pass fell victim to the buzzsaw that is becoming known as Carmichael's Crusaders in Murfreesboro over the weekend. Play Action Pass was led by a 43 point performance from Drew Brees, but it wasn't enough to complete the comeback on SNF. Coach David Looper remained even keeled after the game, telling reporters that "We've just got to get our receivers back in a week or two and we'll be fine." Carmichael's Crusaders continued their path of destruction against the BHFFC and placed seven players in double digit scoring. Coach Ethan Hudson showed no mercy, unleashing Marques Colston to the tune of 21 points despite a huge lead entering SNF.

Safety Blitz (98) @ The Pessimists (84)

Safety Blitz built a big lead and then benefited from an uncharacteristic performance from Ray Rice to hold off The Pessimists and create a log jam atop the Thunder Division. Safety Blitz was led by Arian Foster's 40 points, as the RB shredded a pathetic Titans' defense on Sunday. Coach Phillip Campbell stressed that his team still has room for improvement, as they still haven't scored 100 points on the year. The Pessimists were led by 15 points from John Kasay, as the kicker was busy all night in derailing the Colts. Coach BJ Hudson was notably missing at various times on the sideline and was rumored to be in the clubhouse watching the World Series between plays. Hudson was unavailable for comment.
