In a statement released by Safety Blitz Head Coach Phillip Campbell:
I regret to inform you that I will not be available to meet with the working media at this week's press conference. As a result of my team's seven game losing streak, I have deemed the time necessary for a press conference to be detrimental to the productivity of my team. In place of attending the press conference, my team will be conducting another round of full contact, non-padded practice.
We are all disappointed in our performance last week against YGF. I understand the magnitude that the rivalry takes on for our fan base and I sincerely regret our product that took the field. Let it be known that we will see YGF in Week 17 and we will have our vengeance, in this life, or the next.
I am not at liberty to speak about the current lawsuit that is surrounding our team, but I can say that we are ready to move forward with Jay Cutler under center. Much has been made of him being a former Candy player and possible dissention between him and my blue raider ties, but nothing could be further from the truth. We will move full steam ahead with Jay as our QB.
We are presented with the daunting task of facing Team Maddux this weekend. Coach Maddux has his team playing good, solid football. We will have our hands full with their wishbone running attack. It will be a daunting task, but let me say this-we will not quit. We will not be intimidated. We will not stop working. We will persevere through this misery. We will summon the demons of hell and the great fans that will be rocking The Devil's Den this weekend and ride their powers through these tumultuous times!
I look forward to speaking with you in person next week.
-Coach Phillip Campbell
